Health Communications

Our team is highly regarded across Aotearoa for its specialist health communication skills. We work with a range of health and disability providers to help them deliver stronger community outcomes. Some of the organisations we have worked with include:

Our ongoing and project-based work with these organisations has included creating and delivering award-winning public health campaigns; reputation and crisis management; working with the media; managing internal and external stakeholder communications; building accessible new websites; social media management; and writing and producing annual reports, newsletters, and other publications.

Through our long-standing work with Emerge Aotearoa Trust, we were proud to receive the 2021 Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ) Silver Award for our internal communications work during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2009, director Michele Hider led Canterbury District Health Board's communications team during the DHB's efforts to prevent the spread of swine flu in Canterbury. In 2010, the campaign won the PRINZ inaugural Crystal Clear Literacy Award and was highly commended in the Government or Quasi Government Public Relations section of the awards.

Priority Communications is proud to provide pro bono support to the country’s leading allergy information, education and support charity – Allergy New Zealand. One of our most significant pieces of work for Allergy NZ has been FundaPen - a highly strategic campaign that prompted the government and Pharmac to fund EpiPens® for all New Zealanders at risk of anaphylaxis.
