My experience as an intern at Priority Communications has been nothing short of memorable.

Over the past year of working at the agency my skills have been sharpened, my confidence has grown, and I have been offered invaluable opportunities and experiences.

I began my position as I was approaching my final year of my Strategic Communications undergraduate degree. Stepping into an office environment for the first time was a big adjustment and somewhat intimidating. I quickly learned how to make the most of the people around me and found solace in stepping out of my comfort zone.

The Priority Communications team have been great to work with while I was gaining my confidence in a professional setting. The support and knowledge I have received from them has expanded my communications skillset.

Throughout my time at Priority Communications, my eyes have been opened to just how large the world of communications is. From internal campaigns, social media, marketing, and media management, to stakeholder relations, there is so much that communications and public relations can offer an organisation.

A great aspect of working in an agency is the number of different clients that we get to work with. I’ve been able to work with clients ranging from NGOs, healthcare facilities, and Local Government agencies. The amount of different people I have worked with in different sectors is something that has really inspired me in my work.

This internship has allowed me to learn new skills and put into practice what I’ve studied in my degree. I’ve learnt how to facilitate interviews, turn conversations into meaningful stories, and I’ve enhanced my social media and news writing knowledge. The skills I’ve learnt and developed have helped me create work that I’m proud of.

To sum up my experience with Priority Communications, I would say that I have grown a lot throughout this role, and I feel that the work and the people have prepared me for what awaits me in my future career.
